Your Questions & Answers
What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state of mind and one you go in and out of naturally each and every day. When you are engrossed in a book, a film or are daydreaming you are in a state of natural hypnosis. So you can see it really is an everyday state of mind.
What does hypnosis feel like?
During hypnosis you are pleasantly relaxed and your eyes are closed. You will be fully aware of all that is going on and aware of the opportunity to move forward with your life. Not only will you benefit from the therapy part of the session you will also benefit mentally, emotionally and physically from the wonderful, pleasant, relaxation. For some clients this is the first time they have been able to truly and easily relax. You just need to be comfortable, motivated and have good rapport with your therapist for the session to work.
“It feels wonderful, not at all how I imagined it would be. The best relaxation I have ever had in my life, and so much achieved in such a short time.”
(Client′s comment).
Is hypnosis safe?
Yes. Because hypnosis is a natural, everyday state of mind it is perfectly safe.
Will I still be in control?
Yes, it is important for you to know you will be in full control and fully aware during the session. You will not accept or act on any suggestions if you do not wish to. You cannot be made to do or say anything against your will while you are in this relaxed state of hypnosis.
This is a common question, and an understandable one for anyone who has seen stage hypnotism, television and movies. Hypnosis is NOT mind control. Do not confuse therapeutic hypnosis with stage hypnosis. What you see in a stage show, on television and in movies is nothing more than co-operation and acting.
Anyone who takes part in Stage Hypnosis has readily chosen to take part. They are naturally very extrovert in their everyday life and chosen from a large group of willing participants. If they are asked to do something they don’t want to do then they won’t do it.
You can open your eyes any time you wish and you will remain fully aware of your surroundings and situations at all times. You′re in control and just like day dreaming you will naturally come out of this relaxed state in a few seconds. Hypnotherapists will usually count from one to five, or something similar just to assist you and to bring the session to a close.
Will I have a permanent outcome?
The methods I use attempt to deal with the root cause of the problem, whatever it is, so where possible a permanent positive outcome is achieved.
Do you only use hypnotherapy?
As a master practitioner of NLP and depending on the outcome of the pre chat I may offer or integrate, some of the other therapies, that are on offer as this speeds up the process.
